Marcventures miners to the rescue

Members of the Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation Emergency Response Team (ERT) provided disaster relief assistance to the victims of the magnitude 6.7 earthquake that hit Surigao City, some 120 kilometers from the mine on the evening of February 10. The 10-member ERT was deployed on short notice to assist in search, rescue, and relief efforts in the Surigao del Norte capital where some four fatalities and 80 injured residents were reported.
Marcventures also worked with the local Department of Social Welfare and Development personnel to pack and distribute relief goods for victims of the said earthquake that struck the city and neighboring its towns.
Much-needed lighting for hundreds of earthquake evacuees in makeshift tents in roadside of Brgy. Lipata, Surigao City was also made possible through the help of Marcventures.
